Dracula Musical News –
At present, new / additional music and orchestrations are being produced for the recording of the complete musical. This will feature lots of material we could not include on the concept album. A few of the concept numbers have either been changed or replaced with new songs.

New Vampire Novel News –
Following the publication of ‘Within The Glass Darkly’, the second novel of this new Gothic vampire saga will be published in 2011. The second novel incorporates the original plot / subplot upon which the Dracula musical ‘book’ was partially based. Although the second novel continues the plot of the first, it is possible to read the new book as a story in its own right.
The new novel reveals more about the characters of Stoker’s classic story, the origins of the Nosferatu and Count Dracula himself, whilst developing the original plot of ‘Within The Glass Darkly’.

April 2010 – News

We are continuing to record more music tracks for the complete album of the Dracula musical. The intention is to make the recorded work as complete as possible for the future CD release. This recording will include a number of never before heard songs, and more of the script, from this original musical work. Further news will be posted on its progress later in the year.

* Sang de Vie Productions has co-produced a feature length movie. It is a horror film. More will be revealed about the new professionally directed film during 2010.

* There is also a Sang de Vie Productions ‘Special project’ taking place in August at Weston-super-Mare. Part of their on-going series of professional workshops and master classes, this year’s three day intensive course is based on the rehearsal process for ‘Les Misérables’; and will include the performance of a key scene from the show. The course features the West End associate and musical directors of the show and a member of the present cast.

More work will hopefully be done on the complete CD of the show this month. We hope to bring you the new recording by the end of the year.

The new vampire novel, ‘Within The Glass Darkly’ will be published in February. Deliberately written in the Gothic style of the 19th century, the story features the original “vampire hunter” of the Victorian era, General Spielsdorf and also Le Fanu’s vampire creation, Carmilla.
Dracula briefly features as a minor character, in deference to both Le Fanu and Stoker in this original tale.

End of year News

I hope everyone is looking forward to the Holiday Season and, indeed, the New Year.
Reflecting on our productive journey, during 2009, Sang de Vie has achieved its goal of co-producing its first feature length movie, which will be out of post-production soon.
More will be revealed about the new film during 2010.
We have also made progress on the recording of the complete musical production of ‘Dracula’ by Orton, Evans and Lynn.
This recording will include a number of never before heard songs and more of the script, from this original musical work.
When the complete recorded version of the Dracula musical is released later in 2010, it will include most of the copyrighted material from the original musical work, together with more detailed notes on the creation of this work.
A limited edition version of the copyrighted script may also be available to buy during 2010.

These are ‘test’ tracks only and are low quality, but it will give some idea of the new version of the musical.

To those of you that might not know, the first ever recording of the complete Dracula musical is underway.
The concept album demonstrated only part of the whole show, as it was back in 2005, only a year after Chris, Ian and myself began working on the material. Since the concept album was released, in 2006, we have each worked on our separate projects and have now returned to the Dracula musical to finish it as a recorded work.
The result will be a completely new, professionally produced, musical for anyone that might want to produce the work as a stage show.
The next recording period will be an ambitious part of the project and will take many months to complete.

We are currently seeking sponsorship to further the complete recording / production of this musical work.
